Not an ATS scanner clone We don't claim to mimic any specific ATS. We show transparent, evidence-based feedback you can verify line by line.
Evidence over scores Every match is backed by a quote from your resume linked to a specific requirement in the job description.
No outcome promises We don't guarantee interviews, callbacks, or offers. We give you a clearer picture of what to edit and why.
How it works

Three steps from resume to actionable comparison

No setup, no integrations, no chrome extensions. Drop in your resume and the jobs you're targeting.

1

Add your resume

Upload as PDF or paste it as text. The same resume is evaluated against every job in your benchmark — that's the point.

2

Add the jobs you're targeting

Paste descriptions, attach PDFs, or include URLs. One card per job. Add as many as you want to compare side by side.

3

Open evidence-based reports

Per-job: requirement coverage, evidence quotes, gaps, next edits. Across jobs: a coverage matrix and the edits most likely to help.

Why ResumeBenchmark is different

A clearer picture, not a louder score

Most resume tools collapse a complex match into a single number. We show you the components — so you can decide what to change.

Multi-job comparison, not single-job scoring

See how one resume performs across every job in your search. Spot which roles you're a strong fit for and which need different edits.

Transparent scoring you can audit

Every score is broken down into requirement coverage and evidence quality. No hidden weights, no black-box ATS-style mystery.

Evidence quotes, not vague advice

For every supported match, we show the actual quote from your resume that backs it up — and for gaps, exactly what's missing.

Practical next edits, ranked by impact

Each report ends with concrete suggested edits — and across jobs, the ones that would help the most targets at once.

Evidence supporting one match

"Built a FastAPI service in Python serving 12k requests/day for course recommendations, with Pydantic validation and OpenAPI docs."
Matches Python proficiency · Projects · CourseMatch · line ~24
Suggested edit (rank 1) Add a bullet describing a cloud-deployed project — even a small AWS Free Tier or GCP deployment would address Beta's required cloud qualification.

FAQ

Common questions

Is this just another ATS scanner with a different name?

No. ATS-style tools collapse a complex match into a single number with no audit trail. ResumeBenchmark shows requirement-by-requirement coverage, the actual evidence we found in your resume for each requirement, and what's missing. The score is a summary of those — not a substitute for them.

We also don't claim to mimic any specific ATS scoring system. Real ATS behavior varies by employer and is largely opaque; pretending otherwise would be misleading.

What file formats do you support?

You can upload your resume as a PDF, or paste it as plain text. For job descriptions, you can paste them as text, attach them as PDFs, or include a URL alongside the requirements.

Will using ResumeBenchmark help me get more interviews?

We don't promise that, and any tool that does is exaggerating. Hiring outcomes depend on countless factors outside any tool's control. What we do offer is a clearer picture of how your resume aligns with the specific roles you're targeting — so the edits you make are evidence-based rather than guesses.

What technical roles is this designed for?

Software engineering, data engineering and analytics, ML/AI engineering, and adjacent technical roles like DevOps, SRE, security, and developer experience. The product is tuned around the shape of technical resumes and job descriptions — projects, stacks, internships, OSS contributions, technical coursework.

How transparent is the scoring?

Each report includes a Methodology section explaining what was scored, how supported / missing / unclear are determined, and what the score does and doesn't mean. Each must-have has an evidence quote (or an explicit gap), so you can audit the assessment line by line.

What happens if a job description is incomplete or malformed?

Very short job descriptions (under ~200 characters) are skipped automatically — you won't be charged a credit for them. Longer descriptions that are missing key sections will produce a report, but it may have a "reduced detail" flag indicating which parts were less reliable.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You can cancel your Starter subscription anytime from the Account page. You'll keep access through the end of your current billing period.

Do you store my resume?

Resumes you submit are stored as part of your benchmark history so you can revisit reports later. You can delete individual benchmarks (and their associated content) from your dashboard at any time. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
